This book is a personal account of a young man at twenty-one years of age, who was drafted into the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War, and how his upbringing and character helped save his life and the lives of his platoon. After Basic Training, he was originally headed to the frontlines, but was diverted to Cheju Do Island, Korea and given orders to build, guard, and maintain a prison camp for twenty-five thousand prisoners (five thousand Chinese/twenty thousand Mongolians), who were among the one hundred thousand prisoners that had escaped from their prison camp in Pusan, Korea.
This book tells the story of how this private, fresh out of Basic Training, instinctively took charge, after discovering that there was no leadership to speak of and a lack of food and supplies. He learned early on that surviving meant forging friendships with the prisoners and the Korean people. After many encounters, he was given the title and known, by the prisoners and the Korean people, as a "Man of Awareness." He recounts many interesting tales of getting to know the prisoners and township, and of his travels scrounging for food and camp materials, There were no ranks during the war. Everyone was a private, but he was given the title, Sergeant of the Guard, because he organized and posted the guard. There were many other duties and responsibilities he took on to ensure the camp's survival, but the relationships he made throughout his time in the Korean War outshined the tumultuous nature of it.

The Diary of Love is a testimonial to the transforming affects that love has in our lives, and the generational path it follows. Juanita Grimm is a spiritual writer who co-authored with her daughter, Christine Grimm, "SUN CATCHERS; Color of the Sun Healing Cards - The Book". Both books showcase Juanita's unique writing, but the Diary of Love, traces the lineage of her gift of writing, and how she first encountered the "Energy of the Spirit", as well as, later on, the "Voice of the Spirit". She documents the communication, through writings, in the book. Join Juanita, as she travels through her life experiences and reveals the connection between how love is passed from one to another to become a "Legacy of Love". She describes the pattern that love creates for its survival, starting with the Invitation to love, where love is offered, the Discovery of love, where love is witnessed & accepted, and the Expression of love, where love is manifested into the world. To know what love is, one has to first experience it. Love is the teacher, she says, that taught her how to bring peace to chaos, to apply wisdom to confusion, and, to connect with life at the heart-level.

Christine started writing as a teenager, after she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease at the age of 19. During her recovery, she wrote love poems that helped her express her feelings. With the help of her mother’s spiritual awareness, she found peace and harmony in writing. It was then, at the threshold of healing, that writing took on a whole new meaning in her life. Her writing style had everything to do with what she was learning about herself. She implements into her work; deep-love, spirituality, yoga/meditation/tai chi practices, nature, science, energy, growing up in a family of eleven, and the insight & knowledge gained from a standard education with a little bit of college (Accounting, Psychology, Business). Christine worked as a secretary, administrative assistant, program & development coordinator, event planner, Girl Scout Leader, Tai Chi Chuan instructor, and was a single-parent to two children. She invested time & talent raising her kids with good values and self-management skills. Her books highlight a lot of the lessons learned and are a testament to the importance of being an involved, loving parent. She has worked for construction companies, Methodist Churches, Jewish Temples, property management companies, and as an entrepreneur teaching Tai Chi Chuan for health privately, and at local churches, community centers, and schools. Through her studies in Tai Chi, she learned the Yang’s style short form, push hands, sword, staff, Cheng Hsin T’ui Shou, and other self-defense techniques. At 48, Christine started implementing the principles of the art with new incentive to help manage a heart condition. Partnering with her mother, she led numerous Yoga/Meditation & Tai Chi Seminars. With her brothers, she helped support a PaddedSword role-playing, sport group that her brothers founded, and which her children, teenagers at the time, participated in. She wrote her mother’s memoirs, as well as, her father’s. She wrote a number of children’s books. Her inspiration for writing came from her family and insights gained from being a parent and managing her health, over the years.
